From Damage to Delivery: Our Puyallup Repair Process
Exactly what happens to your vehicle, and when, from the day you drop it off to the day you drive it home.
Transparency Matters After an Accident
Dealing with a damaged vehicle is stressful enough without wondering what's happening to it once it's out of your sight. Insurance calls, rental logistics, and not knowing when you'll get your car back all add up. That's why we walk every customer through the same process we use in our shop every day, so you always know what stage your repair is in and what's coming next. Whether your vehicle needs a simple bumper repair or a full structural rebuild, it moves through the same disciplined, documented steps: nothing is skipped because a repair looks minor, and nothing is rushed because a repair looks major. Below is the process from start to finish.
Your Vehicle's Journey Through Our Shop
Check In & Authorize Repair
We check your vehicle in, confirm your information and insurance details, and get your authorization to begin, so everyone starts on the same page.
Pre-Wash Vehicle
The vehicle is washed before anything else so the damage can be seen clearly and documented accurately, with no road grime hiding scratches or dents.
Disassemble & Create Repair Plan
We carefully disassemble the damaged area so every affected component is exposed, then measure the frame and structural points on computerized equipment against factory specifications to build a complete repair plan, catching hidden damage the surface never shows.
Receive Insurer Authorization
The estimate, plus a supplement for any hidden damage found during disassembly, is submitted to your insurance company and approved before work moves forward. What your policy covers and what you owe out of pocket is ultimately between you and your insurer, but getting authorization in writing first is how we keep unexpected costs on your final bill to a minimum.
Order Parts
We order OE parts specific to your vehicle.
Receive Parts
Parts are received and checked against the repair plan to confirm everything is correct and accounted for before the repair begins.
Provide Delivery Date
With the plan set and parts in hand, we give you a target delivery date so you know when to expect your vehicle back.
Repair Vehicle
Frame straightening, panel replacement or repair, and welding or bonding, all performed to the manufacturer's OEM repair procedures for your specific vehicle rather than generic shortcuts.
Paint Vehicle
Repaired panels are prepped, primed, and painted using computer color-matching so the new paint blends seamlessly with the existing finish, then clear coated and cured.
Reassemble Vehicle
Clean Vehicle
The vehicle is washed and detailed inside and out, so it comes back to you looking its best, not just repaired.
Inspect Vehicle
A final multi-point quality inspection confirms panel fit, paint finish, and system function before the vehicle is cleared for delivery.
Deliver Vehicle
We walk through the completed repair with you in person and send you home with your limited lifetime warranty paperwork.

Ask Us Anything, Anytime
You're welcome to ask questions at any point in the process, including before you drop off your vehicle, while the repair is underway, or right before you pick it up. We'd rather explain something twice than have you wondering what's going on with your car.
You get a specific point of contact for your repair, separate from your estimator, so keeping you updated is that person's actual job rather than something squeezed in between customers. Updates come by text or email, or by phone when something needs a real conversation, and the frequency follows the repair rather than a script. We'd rather tell you we're still waiting on a rear quarter panel than go quiet and let you assume the worst.
Repair Process FAQ
Road grime hides damage. A scratch, a crease, or a stress crack can disappear under a layer of dirt, and if we don't see it during documentation, it doesn't make it onto the repair plan or the insurance estimate. Washing first means the damage we write up is the damage that's actually there.
Because collision damage often extends past what you can see, and we need to look behind the panels to find it. Taking the damaged area apart first lets us build one complete repair plan up front, rather than discovering more damage partway through and revising the plan and the price along the way.
It compares your vehicle's structural points against the manufacturer's factory specifications, in millimeters. A frame can be out of tolerance by an amount you'd never see by eye but that still affects how the vehicle tracks down the road and how it absorbs a future impact. We measure before repairing and verify again afterward.
Almost always one of two: waiting on insurer authorization, or waiting on a part. The hands-on repair steps run on a fairly predictable schedule. The waiting steps don't, because they depend on a third party. When your repair stalls, it's typically parked at one of those two points, and we'll tell you which one.
No. A small repair moves through the same sequence as a structural rebuild, it just moves faster. Nothing gets skipped because a repair looks minor, and nothing gets rushed because a repair looks major. The step list is the same either way.
After the repair plan is approved and the parts are physically in our hands. Giving you a date before that means guessing at two unknowns, so any date we gave you would be a date we'd likely have to walk back. Once we commit to a delivery date, it's built on facts rather than estimates.
A dedicated point of contact, separate from your estimator, updates you by text or email, and by phone if the situation calls for it. Frequency follows the repair: a quick job dropped off Monday might get one update by Thursday, while a multi-week repair is checked in on weekly or more, even when the update is just "still waiting on a part."
Panel fit and gap consistency, paint finish and color blend under proper lighting, and system function, including any cameras, radar, or sensors that were recalibrated during reassembly. The vehicle isn't cleared for delivery until it passes.
You can call us any time for an update. We'll tell you what stage your vehicle is at and what happens next, so you always know where the repair stands.
We walk through the completed repair with you in person, panel by panel, so you can see what was done rather than reading it off an invoice. You leave with your limited lifetime warranty paperwork and a vehicle that's been washed and detailed inside and out.
